  • fitting 6.5s where the 6.75's were...

I've decided to add some rear fill to my system by way of CDT 6X coax. Their only 6.5", and the subs in the rear of the bird are 6.75". The holes don't match up. Do i NEED a new baffle? Is there anyway to work around this? Thanx guys.

Ive never had any problem with 6.5s fitting, but you can get some adapter brackets for pretty cheap. Just search around.

I fit 6.5s in the rear in a ghetto sorta way but u dont see em so why not? I used 3m 1/2 inch foam weather stripping, outlined the hole so the speaker would be resting on just the 3m foam and then i used zip ties to secure the speaker. LOL hey it works and i lost half of the damn little black things that u screw the original speakers into.

I'd say just fab up your own baffles. You could also talk to Mega or WhiteRascal over at fbodyaudio and im sure they can probly fab you something up for a minimal price. BTW, why are you wanting the rear fill the euros produce plenty of midbass, but I guess if you have people riding in the back then I can understand. I played around with my kappas for the rear fill and it totally threw off my imaging, but thats just me. Good Luck man.

Thanx for all the input. I think I am just going to have the shop by my house make me some baffles. I do have people in my car alot (unfortunately for them since it's so small back there), but I'll keep the volume on them down alot using the fader. Plus, I'm just going to run them off the HU, no external amp, so they won't be as loud.

My Infinity 6.5s fit perfectly in the stock openings without any modification. I hated those little black things. I learned to be really careful with those after losing a couple, but my speakers came with replacements so I changed them all and clamped them really tight before putting them on.
