i just bought stuff to finish my system...i got a blaupunkt san jose head unit, and a 12" compVR sub, im getting a guy to build a box for it, and in the mean time i need to get an amp...but i dont know anything about amps...what do i need?

Your problem is that you are only using one sub. And that one sub is has a single 4 ohm voice coil. Meaning you will only get half power out of most amps. With the JBL BP600.1, you will get roughly 300WRMS to your sub. It's the best bang for the buck in your case.
Or get another CompVr and the same amp. Then you can run at 2 ohms and still get 300WRMS per woofer for a total of 600WRMS!!! [img]smile.gif[/img]
I know I'll probably get flamed for this but look at the new profile california amps at ikesound.com. Mine is 420 watts at 2 ohms, it sounds awesome, doesnt cut out or overheat or anything, it is really a great amp for the money. So for the sub u have i would look at the CA600 and i would bridge it given u a good amount of watts to power that sub.
that sub is a dvc sub 2 or 4 ohm coils check on that. the profile amp he is talking about is great for the price but lack in the 420 watts of power so my g/f got the 600.1 and thats great. he subs suck tho so i can't wait to get the rockfords. god do i hate infinity.
