I tried to unscrew the 2 10mm bolts and one broke off (in half) and is still in the hole-- a lil rusty... and i tried loosening the other and it only moved one way a lil and stopped. I looked behind the computer thing and i dont even see a rubber boot like that one here--- http://shbox.com/fw/Firewall_wire_feed.html
i mean its probably there and i just cant see it...
basically i stopped cause i broke that one bolt. hmmmm

One more thing... the black plastic piece under the glove box comes o how? push pins? just wondering.

Once you get the pcm moved up and out of the way, you'll see the boot. A flashlight will help a bunch. On the inside, you need to take the kick panel off as well as the door moulding. Just remove all the screws and they'll come right off.
If you need to drop the glove box down for any reason, just push in on the sides of the tray and pull down. You may not need to though for just running a wire.
That sucks about the broken bolt. Your best bet would be to soak the other bolt with some type of penetrating lubricant. Get some PB-Blaster or Liquid Wrench (at Walmart, Autozone, etc..) and spray the hell out of that bolt. Let it sit for a half hour or so and try to remove it. Loosen the bolt a little and if you feel it start to get really tight again - stop, reverse your socket and screw it back in a little. Keep soaking it with the lubricant and you should be able to work it out.
You won't be able to see the boot till the computer is removed. Its tucked pretty far down in but its there.
Oh and when you start to pull the computer out of its place, its kinda hard but take your time. You have to wiggle and move it certain way but it comes out.
Damn. That does suck. Not having very good luck huh? Well once you get the PCM out, the grommit is there. And there are two of those "plastic push screws" holding on the panel under the glove box. Just get a pair of pliers and pull hard. They come out.
Sorry the F key dont work unless I hit it real hard. LOL
Ok well the one bolt is broke off in there and the other came out and when i got it all out (a damn struggle) i saw the boot and pulled that out. Then i popped that plastic piece off the underside of where the glove box is (the little plug flew out LOL) and i could see daylight. YAY
Yes its all done now and a very clean install. All wires are hidden except for a piece that goes around the rear passenger seat... u can see it come out from under the trim and go between the seat. Maybe 6 inches of it...
Anyways i had a hard time getting the bolts back on that trim piece next to the passenger seat.
Oh yes. there is one problem. i drove an hour and a half back home after this install (did it at a friends and he helped me a good deal) and well the bass just cut out... is it the RCAs? i am using scosche fx RCAs and i have Knu Konceptz ones here in the box. Those are shielded... and i wanna know what that little wire is sticking out in between the 2 plugs on the Knu Konceptz one is... i can get a pic if u wanna know what i mean.

The thin wire is probably the turn-on lead for the amp. That could be your problem. If that gets broken or disconnected, then your amp is not going to power up.
Megabass is right, that little wire you see in the middle of the Knu Konceptz RCA's is a Remote Turn On Lead. Some RCA's have it built in as a convenience; others don't. If the RCA's you used didn't have that wire then your friend must have ran a totally separate wire for your remote turn on lead; which is fine.
If your system just suddenly cut out then either your amp got to hot and shut off or a wiring connection came loose. Double check where the amp is grounded and make sure its bolted/screwed down tight and touching bare metal. I always use a flat bladed screw driver or something and scrape the paint away till I see raw metal. This way you know you have a good ground. If its not the ground and all the other wires appear to be in good shape, then it may be in how you wired your amp to your subs. What all are you running? Amp? how many subs are wired to the amp and how many "Ohms" are they? You don't want to wire up two (4-ohm each) subs to an amp in Bridged mode. The amp will see that as a 2-ohm load and overheat fairly quickly and eventually burn up.
As far as that long plastic trim panel along the bottom of the door, yeah those are a pain. You either have to have a super short phillips or an angled screwdriver like a Skewdriver. I had mine off tonight trying to trace down a bunch of cut wires I found when I bought the car. You should tuck those wires under the carpet you said you can see by the back seat. When I installed a system in my old 94 bird, I removed the bottom portion of the rear seat to make things easier. There is only one bolt that holds the bottom seat on (towards the floor kinda tucked under). With that out of your way, you can pull the factory carpeting back a little out from under the plastic trim and run your wires under the carpet. That's how I did it and it made all wiring completely disappear.
Oh... i thought my speakers were 8 ohms a piece... maybe they are 4. I gotta take a peek at the magnet.
i will work on making the wire more invisible but right now its good cause i never had people in my backseat... plus if i go out i am either alone or my boyfriend and I take his jeep.
I did scrape the metal away and used a wirebrush on it... couldnt hurt to go over it again though with the wirebrush.
I do have a remote wire that I just put in from my old kit.
I had no idea what that other wire was but I shoulda known cause i didnt see a remote wire by itself. lol
Sorry i dont have more info on the speakers or amp right now... I bought it all like 3-4 years back. tee hee
i will get more info later.
Thanks again for all your help guys.
