• Help choosing which amp

Heres what I have, a Pioneer DEH-6400, Audiobahn 6.5" ABC6002 components, and 2 JL W3 D2V2 10's. Now, should I run 2 seperate amps or 1 big amp? I want strickly Rockford Fosgate. I dont know wether or not to get a RF 801X and run everything in 2ohms bridged or if I sould run a 300S for the compnents in a 2ohm load, and a 500S into a 2 ohm load bridged for the W3's. Or should I get a 4 channel 500X and bridge them into a 4 ohm load for the components? I'm confused and don't know where to spend my money, suggestions please? I want to get the most out of my system

Ok, first off. The 801X is a 4-channel amp. You would run your components off the front 2 channels (4 ohms) and most would bridge the rear channels for the subs....HOWEVER you have the D2 version of the W3. That's dual 2 ohm. You should parallel the voice coils together and then series the subs together. This will give you a final 2 ohm load. You CANNOT present a 2 ohm load to this amp when in bridged mode. 4 ohms min. Here's a link. It clearly states "4-ohm stable in bridged mode". That is the case with most all amp in bridged mode. Rule of thumb, 4 ohms. :( You cannot wire two D2 subs into a 4 ohm load. So you're in a bit of a bind. You can either pick up a 3-channel amp such as this one or run two seperate amps. And since you want strickly Fosgate....I'll guess you'll be going the two seperate amp route. ;) I suggest the 451S and the 501bd. Ask the seller if he will combine on shipping.

So if I used the 451S, that means I could only get 115 watts RMS x 2 at 4 ohms, is that enough for my components since the RMS on them is 200w? Would it be smarter for me to spend the extra money and get a 501X and bridge the components onto each side in 4 ohm? And I can run both of my subs in a 2ohm load with the 501bd correct? That 501bd is a great amp you suggested, I wouldn't have ever thought of that, thanks alot!!

I doubt their gonna take 200WRMS for too long. Not dogin on Audiobahn...but I've seen my far share of their equipment go up in smoke. Not many sets will take more than 125WRMS. But if you insist, you can bump up to the 551S or if you really feel like spending some money, the 851S. You wanna stay with the two channel amps. No need to buy a 4-channel. And yes, the 501bd will power both subs nicely.

Will it make any difference if I step up to a 551S for the components? I just want it as loud as possible but as clear as possible, will I achieve this sound with the 451S? I'm just scared I won't be able to tell the difference on the extra money spent on the 551S over the 451S.

I don't think you'll be able to. The 451S is plenty.
