Most hated car audio.

I just want to see what stuff you guys don't like. I'm not talking about the cheap stuff like pyle, legacy ect. I am talking real brand name stuff. I have always had a problem with rockford fosgate. I will never buy another rf product again. What good stuff have you guys had problems with?

Ive NEVER had any problem with ANY RF product. I seem to hate sony Xplod stereos.

Also kenwood/pioneer amps suck.

I've had many a problems with Sony's Xplod line. The headunits mainly. They skip like crazy. I'm almost certain that's why they introduced that G-protection slide out tray design. They were trying to win back people's confidence. Also, I have NEVER heard an Xplod speaker that I didn't dislike. Not only didn't like.... but didn't dislike. IMO they all suck balls.

Actually, a bunch of brands have tried to turn out quality products as of late. Lanzar used to be along side Pyramid, but they actually have some sub-decent gear now. Audiobahn used to suck. A few years ago, they turned their act around too. And while I'm on this note, some companies have began to slip in the other direction. Pheonix Gold for example. Everybody wanted PG back in the day.... now their stuff is a dime a dozen. And over the past, say, 6 years... I've started to notice Eclipse doing the same. Used to be an exclusive elite brand name. Pretty common item now. Maybe these companies quality isin't really slipping....just aiming at a different market I guess. :(

I'll add Kenwood subs and amps. Doesn't seem that great of a choice for the money. Some silly gimmicks, too. Ugly designs.

i hate anything xplod. i also dislike some aiwa headunits.

i think we can all agree that sony is total crap. i also have to add alpine hu's to the mix. after all the problems i've had with the motors dying, displays going out, and them eating cd's i wont ever put another one near my car. MTX really just pisses me off. After they took over Xtant the quality there really went downhill. also every kid in town here uses them in setups that are only irritatingly loud and have no quality. i dont mind going down the road and hearing a nice spl system but when i can hear them flapping in my car its just pathetic.

I hate Audiobahn, they put more money into the look and how shiney the amp is instead of putting money into how it performs.

I had an Audiobahn a2300hcq amp that put out 1200x2 @ 1 ohm. I was happy with that, I paid like $425 for it. I just sold my audiobahn aw1205q's on ebay that were taking the beating from that amp.

Also my fiancee has a single audiobahn aw1200q in a ported box made by steve at subthump being powered by a kicker kx600.1 and hers sounds good.

I would probaly buy audiobahn again.

no its not just me, i cant remember who all else has had problems with them but the last 3 or 4 i've installed for my friends and myself have had serious issues. all but one of us who had them went to clarion or eclipse (and im back to stock now... i forgot how much the monsoon system sucked)

I would have to say Alpine. Their stuff is way overrated. I had a pair of Type R subs and Type S 2-ways in the backseat, and wound up getting rid of all of it. I have a Pioneer direct-fit headunit, and all my speakers, subs, and amps are RF. They make great stuff.

im not sure how alpine's new stuff is, but i have an older v12, to say the least... very nice amp

had audiobahn, no complaints (other than you really dont want to give the subs their rms power, i blew 2 1200q's with 1400 watts goin to them, for only a short period

also had a a12001dt, it was alright, volt meter went out, mosfet fried, but they replaced the amp and payed for everything...

You probaly didn't have the gain set correctly.

I had a pair of Kicker DX60 6.5 inch speakers rated at 50 WRMS and 100 Watts Peak running with a pioneer head unit. I installed them thinking it was going sound good so I turned them up and they sounded real crappy. It seemed like a total waste of money.
