  • my subs cut out... hmmmm

Ok ok i know i have been posting alot lately... but i have yet another little problem.

All the bass just cut out (subs I guess cause i have my bass on negative 6 on the HU) after i was driving for an hour and a half.

Is it my RCAs? Could it be the sensitivity (a little over 3/4 all the way up)...

It cut out then came back on then went out again.

I posted this on my last post about problems with firewall but decided to post a new one for this problem.

sounds like a thermal protection circuit is shutting down in your amp. It's a safety feature. They usually reactivate after the internal operating temperature drops back into safe territory.

You're running your amp too hot. Run more air or less power through it.

Ok i turned the sensitivity down and it seems ok now but I wont know til i drive to work so it has a longer amount of time to warm up.

Its a little cramped right now too in the trunk and soon it will be mounted correctly onto the amp rack.

      thanks

Well when I was running a cheap amp in 2 ohm mode the bass would cut out just like you say. I'm pretty sure that your amp is gettin warm and going into protect mode as 1101 said. I'm not sure what kind of ohm configuration you have though. Sorry I really havent been keeping up with the stereo section as much as normal so if I missed anything then let me know.
