Anyone got any advice on this? I'm going to try it soon. Where does everyone put their crossovers?

Component speakers INstall

Its not really that hard to install them, more of a PITA but not hard. The worst part is taking off the door panels. Unless you have to make custom mounting brackets for the speakers like I did. That sucked. But if you have the 6.5s or 6-3/4" components you should be fine. Also running new speaker wire through the door sucked big time as well. Get a hanger, straighten it out, stick it through that rubber hose (the thing the wires are in that go from the kickpanel to the door) from inside the car. When it comes out in the door duct tape your speaker wires to it and pull the hanger through. Its really tight through there so make sure your wires are attached to the hanger really good. On the passenger side, if your crossover isnt huge, there is a little cubby hole thing that holds the crossover perfectly. You will see what Im talking about when you take the kickpanel off. Also check out my page, you can kind of see my passenger side crossover in one of the pics. As for the drivers side I just dropped that panel that is near your knees and used velcro to attach the crossover to the panel.
Hope this isnt too confusing for you. If you have anymore questions just let me know.

Ok. I just got my door panel off. So do the tweets sound good by the mirror? How did you mount them there?Whisper Lid, SLP CAI, KN Filter, 3\" HiFlo Carsound Cat, full 3\" mandrel-bent piping, Flowmaster 80s, Casper O2 Sim, BM Tranny Cooler, Vigilante 3300 Torque Converter, Corvette Servo, 3.42 gears, SLP take-off LSD, Manual Fan Switch, & 160 Thermostat.

is there a way to flush mount the tweets w/o using the brackets they give you?? The brackets they gave me are kinda bigWhisper Lid, SLP CAI, KN Filter, 3\" HiFlo Carsound Cat, full 3\" mandrel-bent piping, Flowmaster 80s, Casper O2 Sim, BM Tranny Cooler, Vigilante 3300 Torque Converter, Corvette Servo, 3.42 gears, SLP take-off LSD, Manual Fan Switch, & 160 Thermostat.

I think the tweets sound pretty good in the mirror trim pieces. Its not the best place to put them but since I always have someone riding with me it keeps their leg from blocking the sound.
I didnt use the bracket they include for flush mounting, mine were also too big. Just use the tweeters themselves. I bought a hole saw for my drill, I think the one I got was 1-3/4", then carefully cut a hole in the trim pieces. I hate cutting my stock stuff so I bought extra pieces before hand and cut those up, they were only 8 bucks a piece. You can use epoxy to hold the tweeters in place, I actually used JB Weld, that stuff is better than duct tape. I dont have any bracket holding them in, just the JB Weld. So far they havent budged. Then just run your wires and your set.
