• Kicker VS Alpine

I am thinking of buying 2 subs on IKEsound.com, It has all comed down to 2 CVR12 400RMS dual 4ohms or 2 Alpine type R dual 4ohms 300RMS.

    Which ones should I get?

I had a pair of the Type R's, and I don't think they're as good as they're hyped up to be. I got rid of them and swapped in a pair of RF HX2's, which I like MUCH better. Better power handling, more thump, and they play louder. But I've never heard any of the Kicker subs, so I can't give youa totally unbiased opinion.

I'd take the Type-R's without a pause. Funny you mention the HX2's memphis. I ran three 10" HX2's for a long time. Liked them a lot. But I had a buddy who ran three 10" Type-R's with my EXACT SAME amp and a VERY similar box. Sounded pretty close to me. The CVR's are all too common. I bet I've heard a dozen setups using the CVR's. My vote goes to Alpine.

I had three of the alpine type r 12" in my car with close to 1200 watts going to them and they done really well.I done a 149.9 on the new term lab meter with a really small box.

the type r's are much better imo. but there are better subs for the money if you keep looking around. If you want name recognition and good quality though then the alpines are the way to go (just dont get an alpine HU).

I can get 2 Alpine Type R for $238 shipped and everything.

But what other types of subwoofer would be better than the Type R for the same amount of money? :D

                What does IMO mean?

^^^^In my opinion. You can get the kickers much cheaper than that on ebay. What amp will you be using?

Fire Fighter I would rather go with the Alpines but thanks any ways Fire fighter. Reason, well just because Ive done my research on other web sites and so far every one has said that the alpines type-r are better than the kickers CVR12.

                      WICKED I am interested.

oh, yeah im sure he can afford those. you could do what i always tell people and go over to www.edesignaudio.com , ive had great luck with their equipment and its much better sq than alpine imo. The k-series is just as good sounding as the O's but they arent as loud. if you are looking for an amp as well you should look here http://www.edesignaudio.com/13kv2_special.htm i suggest the fourth deal down.

I have still yet to hear in person a type x. Type R's are ok but I would rather have the kickers.
