My friend came over to my house last night and he showed me his system. He has an intrepid 97 he has an pioneer headunit, 4 RF speakers and one 12 of the newer RF subwoofers, and one of the newer power acoustik amps 4-channel 800watts peak. He is running the RF sub and 2 of the RF speakers.

So he turned it up and I couldnt really hear the bass all I could hear was the back speakers. He opend the trunk and the sub was really moving but no base at all. So I told him if wanted to try out his sub in my car and he sed yes so we put the sub in my trunk and I conected it to my Kenwood 350watts peak and the base sounded deeper and louder, he was really amazed.

So whats wrong with his subwoofer why am I not hearing the base? I was thinking that he may need more power to pump up the sub.

first off delete your other 2 duplicate threads by going into them, hitting edit, and then click the box titled "delete post" and click edit. thanks. second what RF subs are these, how are they wired? it could be he has them wired at a high ohmage and the subs arent getting enough power. it could also be that his crappy amp isnt putting the power out or it might not be transmitting any low frequencies to the sub, check where the crossover on the amp is set too. also check the gain if you havent already. hope that helped a little.

Too many variables. First, two different cars. And one has a trunk. I bet that's most of it right there. Second, maybe his electrical system was dipping. Less power in equals less power out. Next, assuming you both wiring the sub correctly, his power acoustik amp was probably outputing less power then your 350W peak Kenwood.... and that's just sad. If he wants louder, build him a ported box. He's only got one 12" and a whole trunk to use.

He does have a ported box. And even when I had my Honda Accord my sistem sounded louder and I only had 2 pioneer subs and a 350watt kenwood amp.

I have this other question I have this class D mono block 1-channel amp but how come it has 2 positives and 2 negatives.

Several amps use this design. It's just for ease of wiring. If this amp is anything like the JBL BP1200.1, the connections are in parallel internally. Double check the owners manual or the manufacture's website to be sure.

try your kenwood amp in his car. that can narrow down if its the amp or not.

That the same thing I told him T-punk. That way we will know if its his trunk or his amp.

                  Thanks 96firebird311
