  • Any Ideas?

I need an amp for my 2 Fusion Audio Powerplants Fpw1200 subs. They are 450 RMS and 900 peak. I'm thinking about getting a 1200 or 1400 watt amp, but don't know any good ones. I don't want to spend more then 250 bucks on an amp. So 250 bucks it the limit. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks

    1000WRMSx1@1ohm is plenty.
    Hifonics XX series
And you're best bang for the buck...believe it or not... is going to be the Lanzar Vibe series. Don't buy any other Lanzar amp. They suck. Also, Hifonics offers a 1000WRMSx1@1ohm amp (BX1000D) for about $30 less. Watch the gain with the 1500D.

that seems like a good deal on the viper. the nine.1 from www.edesignaudio.com is another good choice.

I got to looking on Etronics.com and found a PowerAcoustik PS2-1600 1600W 2 Channel Power Amplifier for 130 bucks. Is this a good amp to go at it or is it over kill for what I want to do. Here is where I found it: http://www.etronics.com/product.asp?...ore=&catid=308

PowerAcoustik isin't very good gear. And you need to be looking at the RMS rating of the power out. The words "peak" or "max" mean nothing. So that 1600W amp.... as stated is only 740WRMS. And I bet it actually doesn't even do that much....

While I'm here, what box do you plan on using?

Why do you say PA is junk?

Well I made my own box that is going right behind the rear seats on the hump. I'm also going to do some fiberglass work.

Very cheap sh*t, You get what you pay for. Those amps sound bad and dont do anywhere near their rms power.

You are looking to go cheap, thats why I haven't responded anymore. IMO MA is junk to, come on they sell it at walmart and you can also order it.

not really. i havent heard much about them but FF has pretty good taste in equipment so i would trust him. you could try your luck at this auction http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...sPageName=WDVW but it will likely go over 300. the viper amp really does look like a good deal, i would go with that.
