  • Ok NEW amp problem... baaaahhhh

Well last night when i was leaving work, the amp decided to cut off or whatever. It hasnt come back on since. lol

I was thinking i damaged it cause earlier that day I was showing a bunch of guys my stuff and we were cranking it up loud. I was showing off like the rest of em... tee hee.

Anyways i thought maybe the amp just died. I didnt smell anything funny or anything like that... So last night when i got home i decided not to bridge the speakers and just hooked them up normally. I didnt test the speakers after i did that.

Ok so today i get in the car to leave for work and i hear no bass. nothing. so i pop the trunk and look and the light on the amp isnt on... i notice the ground is a little loose so i just go to work thinking its the ground.

On break i go out there with a screwdriver from work and i tighten everything down... then i turn it on. No light... nothing.

i thought it was the crappy RCAs... now it think its the old amp. i mean its not really old but i have had it since early 2000.

Ok tonight i am just gonna order a mono subwoofer amp off the net... not sure what brand.

even if the old kenwood is ok i still do want a new amp.

Just thought i would share and damnit i get pissed everytime i think about my car not having any bass. i was really liking it since it hit harder in this car than it did my old one.

check that there is power at the remote turn on. Check all fuses, one time a fuse gave me 3 hours worth of unnessesary work. That particular fuse just so happen to blow out, but it blew at the end and it just barely opened so i could barely see it.

i love my kenwood mono sub amp, 1000 RMS and it slams hard. i had to get a 3 Fared CAP for it so it would stop diming my lights
