  • Best car alarm?

hey everyone, does anyone know a really good car alarm...i kinda get really paranoid when i go to walmart cause i don't know if someone is gonna slash my top and take my stuff so, do they make them with proximty (sp) sensors? I really need to get something...i haven't tried my factory alarm yet but i think it runs through the radio i took out and if it doesn't it probably isn't that good anyways

stick with DEI... all of their alarms are the easiest to install, the highest quality and from what I've seen the best expandability. Ya prox sensor will be an add on to any model of alarm you get by them (I think).

Or you could just add the DEI 508D proximity sensor to your stock alarm like I did (assuming your car came with the stock alarm). I love mine and it works great.

The site you posted it actually a pretty good price. They normally go for 60 bucks and up. I got mine on a group purchase on LS1.com. It came to 40 bucks shipped. There is also a write-up on LS1.com in the Electronics section on how to add the unit to our cars. Look at the FAQ post at the top of the Electronics forum on that site.

If you want the BEST car alarm (price not being a factor) go for a Clifford. They're amazing. They go for around $2k though, so you might want to just stick with DEI.
