how easy is this to fix? it looks like the wire just came out of the glue

i was putting in my components and it was a major hassle, so i decided to have a shop do it. Well, they said my voice coil was disconnected(which it wasnt) and they deny doing it

so i need to fix the speaker :|

    grr

the place was a real crap operation.....the guy who talked to me was great and knew alot, when i went back for my car it was a bunch of installers who were demanding and didnt know anything, i basically paid them to get my car back

Im not sure if there is any hope for a disconnected voice coil. I guess if it just came unglued it might can be fixed but Im not sure. Have you tried hooking the speaker up and moving the disconnected wire around to see if you can get some kind of connection with it??

i dont want to make it worse

the wire just got disconnected from the glue

      thats all

the glue is still intact and everything, just like the wire slipped gently off the top

The glue holds the wire to the underside of the cone, that's true. The probelm is that the voice coil lead that attaches to the other side is probably long gone.

It's a single strand high-gauge lead. I would venture to say that the lead has probably fallen out of that lead catch and back into the spider.

I hope that's not the case, but that's usually what happens when the spade lead gets pulled off.

If that sub is one of the newer focal subs, it should pound if you put good power to it. DO you have the matching focal mids?
