• Some cheap but decent 12s?

Well AOL is too slow to do a search so I'm just gonna ask...
I have JL 12s right now, old *** ones.
Anyway, one blew today... don't know how. I think they just got old and the cone got soft. I've been pounding them for 3 years with no problems, but one finally gave way today.
So what is a cheap replacement for them? I don't want anything fancy because I am going to have my uncle build me a nice stereo this summer... thinking about getting a Solobarack (however you spell it) 15" one... my uncle put one in his cadillac and it makes you go

So what doesn't sound too bad and is cheap? Another pair of old *** JLs or what?

How much $$$ is too much $$$$? What type of music do you listen to most? What amp is going to be powering the sub(s)? What size box are you looking at using?

Did a quick search on Ebay and found two new 12" subs for $24.00. Don't know how long they will last or sound but its better than listening to blown speakers. lol Basically something to get you by till you get your Solobaric.

I had a friend who actually bought TWO of those auctions. So 4 subwoofers....by mistake. He thought he had to put "2" in the quantity box to buy a pair. By the time they got there, he had learned a little more and realized that they were total s#it. :D Besides, those aren't cheap. THESE are cheap! $99 for a case!! LOL!

Money: I want to stay in the low 100s for the pair if I can...
Music: EVERYTHING :D
Amp: Same amp I have no... A/D/S PH15 I don't even know the stats on it Its a 6 channel amp and I have 2 channels bridged for each speaker, I think its like 100 watts.
Box: Same box I have now. I would link you from my cardomain site but AOL is slow lol. The link is in my sig though you can see the whole setup.

Should I just get another set of JL 12w0s? I think thats what I have in there now... They've been great speakers.

He still has them. Been sittin gin the closet ever since they came. He's tried to sell them locally for the same price he bought them. Nobody's bought em' yet. ;)

95Bat, I see that you have a ported box. Is it a common chamber? Or is there a divider in the center? I ask because, if it's divided, just buy another W0 until you get your new box. Next, being that you have a ported box, it's going to be VERY hard for anyone to recommend anything without some box specs. How large is the box and what is it tuned to? If it is a common camber box,....maybe try to pick up a used W0 to match them one you have now?

Get a some Image Dynamics ID12v.3. These new subs are even better than their old, version 2 IDQs. I think they're about $110 on sounddomain.

and it's got a divider in the middle...
The w0s sounded better with the box sealed than when it wasn't so I permanently sealed it hehe.

The JL 12" w0s are $96 each for the cheapest I can find... too much for me right now.

These too much? You will need to be able to run at 1 ohm or 4 ohms with that particular link.

You know... I have no idea what my current setup is. I don't know if they're at 4 ohms or what, which is what is making this hard for me to buy the right speaker...
Did they make the w0s at 8 ohm? They're Single Voice Coil 4 ohm speakers right?
