Do they make special split loom tubing that can be used in high heated areas, like under the hood? Or will your standard slit loom be fine? I'm going to be redoing all the loom under the hood on my 87 Camaro and I don't want it to melt.

I used regular loom and zip ties w/ no problems on a couple of my cars. I doubt if you're running straight shot from the battery to the firewall you'd ever build up enough heat to light up that stuff unless the car were already on fire...\'00 f-bird 3.8 M5 coupe, pewter metallic
Torsen LSD, Pro 5.0 shifter, Spec stage 1 clutch, Y87 muffler, aftermarket stereo
-more fun than the Oldsmobile it replaced...

i'm lucky, i get dealer price on a fiber cloth heat shield which looks pretty good as well as a not-so-pretty silicone blend shield.
On my car i have plain redand some chrome colored loom and have had no problems so far.97 RS
Member Status: F-Body Owner
Member Number: 7705
Registered: September 13, 2005
Posts: 24
Email Address: hfoxx123@yahoo.com
Location: Minnesota
Occupation: Database Administration
Homepage: http://none
Car: uh a camaro

Taylor makes a high temp split loom, I got it from a local speed shop. It worked very well and never lost its color. I used the regular stuff on the cav from autozone and it faded like sh*t.2005 Cavalier LS Sport M5
http://members.cardomain.com/firefighter8615
