Yeah, $185 is a bit much.
A yellow top will have no problems with sitting around awhile. Less then any other battery infact. As you know, it's a deep cycle battery. It's built to withstand draining, then recharging to full capacity without any losses. The closest thing to indestructible you can get. Why not just wait to buy the battery though......

Ok, I am majoring in Electrical Engineering. I had class one night and the professor was talking about some "myths" and the whole Don't leave the battery on a concret floor came up. No one could give any statements on why it would have ANY effect on the battery... Could someone enlighten me on why you would believe this, other than "someone just told me that"

Haha, yes I'm sure he IS right, so is my dad. But does anyone have any logical reason as to why people would think this?

2 years is not that old at all. I wouldn't think twice about waiting to buy the new battery.

yea i know what you mean. ill wait a year to put it on i think. oh well.. its bought and paid for.

articacid: the yellow is a deep cycle. the red isnt. the red is made best for a "starter batter" and the yellow is better for me cuz of my system needing more juice.

Just for the record, the deep cycle abilities of the Optima yellow top is not a remedy to the "my system needing more juice" problem. Unless you play the stereo with the car off frequently, you stand to gain nothing over the Optima red top. Last I checked, Optima's website had a pretty good wright up on the advantages/disadvantages of all their models. I suggest you read it.
