• Different setup for subs

Have any of you contemplated on pulling out rear seats and building a box back there to hold 3-4 subs and make a custom mount amp rack for the rear deck. If anyone has done this could u give me some info on it. Or anyone have any input it would be greatly appreciated.

I've heard bass response isn't nearly as good when coming from the rear seat. It gets better when you angle the subs towards the hatch, but i'm not sure how much. Are you looking to keep T-top storage and that's why you want to use the rear seat? If not, buy a well box from www.subthump.com and put two Adire Shiva's in there. That should be more than enough bass.

im kinda looking for some serious db's. i dont have to worry bout t top mine doesnt have em. I am just really really into deep bass. I have a friend who did something similar ina older mustang and he was hitting 160 db's. I dont use the back seats for anything but junk anyways so i wouldnt mind loosing them

Are you planning to compete on a regular basis? If not, 160 is insane. 150 is very good for a nice 'wow' effect, but 140 should really be the max for daily driving and even then it should never be that loud for long periods unless you plan to die young before those long term hearing effects kick in later.

Anyway, if you want a real nice mild system, buy the deep well box from www.subthump.com and put two Shiva's in it like I said before. This will hit hard and clean.
Box, $250, I think
2 Shiva's - $250
1 JBL BP1200.1 - $300

If you want SPL, do this.

Deep well box from before. - $250, I think
2 - Adire Audio Brahma 10's - a little under $800
2 JBL BP1200.1's - $600
Easy 150's

Why don't you use the WHOLE back area for the sub box and then the back seat area for the amps?

Actually, I don't think this will do 150's... maybe.... it'd be close. Why wouldn't he get 2 12" Brahma's?? And I'd like to see the electrical system handle an amp for mids&highs and 2 JBL 1200.1's (114amps each) <----- I know that's not continous. But I would spend a couple of extra bucks and get the Cadence A7HC. Draws less current, has a little more power, has more bells and whistles.
HEY V6MARO!!! Do you have any pictures of your install without the back seat? What did you have in there? What size box etc....

The reason for 10's instead of 12's is because the well box doesn't have enough space to port two 12's. But for two ported 10's it's pefect.

How much air per chamber does the deep-well box provide? Those are SMALL box woofers, if you can give each one around 1.75cuft (before displacement) each, that's plenty. You could get away with 1.5 even. Tune low... 27 28Hz ish.

The box gives around 1.5 cu.ft. per chamber. That's perfect for a Brahma 10 whichs needs anything from .75-1.25 ported. The Brahma itself displaces about .12 cu.ft. of space so you can go up to 1.38.

Yeah, 1.5 before displacement of woofer and port would cut it a little too close. 10"s would be better.
