I don't think many people on this board know about this woofer at all b/c all they ever suggest are alpine and infinity...here's what a respected member of one of my forums had to say about the ND v. the LM. This was about their 6" mid-woofer, but I e-mailed the guy and he said that stands true for all of their lines.

'Luccents actually are more efficient and easier to run without a good crossover because carbon fiber tends to create rather steep break off points... The carbons sound a little better at higher volumes but the difference is not that great.'

yeah elitecaraudio.com ... most of those guys really know their stuff, and u can do searches there too and read TONS of info once you register. These guys all know about the brands you don't see at best buy and other stores.

it seems like i could build an AP Enclosure for these subs. what do you think about a fiberglass encloser with 1.5lb density fiberglass insulation inside between two sheats of .09 thick alluminum mesh. this is what im planning on puttion in the rear sails. i found that if i do some metal work i can fit them in there so that shouldnt be the problem. i think this would be the best option, especially since the Qts of the speaker is so low. if you think otherwise please let me know. i havent built many AP Enclosures, they take a lot of time to tune, so if you have any info on this matter please let me know. i just registered over at elite so i should get my emailed conformation soon.

I think you need to read the boards a bit more before you post something silly like that.

When kids ask about Type R's or Kappas, we generally try to steer them to Adire, ED, or IDQ. Freeser still pushes JL occasionally. I don't think Freeser, 96firebird311, or myself have ever recommended Alpine or Infinity for their subwoofers.

Illusion audio makes nice drivers, but I only recommend their subs when mounting depth is almost nonexistent. Otherwise, putting your motor assembly up in front of the cone is just asking for trouble in a car environment. Maybe you're more careful than I am, but I'd rather have my voice coils safe and sealed inside an enclosure.

T, honestly, i can't help you out with what you're talking about. Once you get registered, do some searches over there on it. If you don't find anything, don't be afraid to ask in the general discussion forum. Good luck.

matt, this was in no way referring to you, freeser, or 96firebird311...u guys all know your stuff really well...much more than i know mine and ill be the first to admit that. But MOST people on this board do push your everyday woofer.

i would have to second that you guys are the ones i trust. other than that i always have to research what people say here. i think elite car audio will be a nice place to go for more help though. the only reason i use this site so much is because im always here for performance mods already. Space is deffinately a big problem with what im talking about and i will not be leaving them open, they will have grill protection.
