Has anyone here transfered their non-power windows and locks to power? If so, how expensive was it? The prices I got so far seem unrealistically high. Tell me if this conversion is a good idea, or if my opinion of it simply not being worth it is right... TIA

Well I recently put in power locks in my car. I bought the actuators from ebay for like $30 shipped. Theyre switchless so I didnt have to worry about drilling the switch in. When I unlock/lock one door the other door does the same. The main reason I got them was to be able use keyless entry with my alarm, and Im really glad I did it. Ive heard that power windows are a lot harder to do and more expensive, so I didnt even bother with that.

That's exactly what I have in mind... not really for the power windows but the locks would be nice.. I'm sure glad someone already attempted this conversion. Can you give me a list of specific parts that I'll need? TIA

Well this is exactly what I bought off of ebay and so far its been working great. Heres the link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eb...530356&r=0&t=0

This comes with everything you need is ready to be hooked up to an alarm.

I've had both done. The dealer did the power locks when I bought the car, and I had a local guy here do the power windows. I don't know exectly which kit he used, but it was a universal type where a motor actually turns the factory manual crank. This is one just like mine, in fact it may be the one I have:

Mine have been working fine for about a year. I also know there are a couple kits available specifically for our cars. Here's one I know of:

Thanks a lot... these prices are way lower than the quote the dealer gave me... Why do they have to be so full of $h!t?
