im getting my system soon enough. can i wire 2 subs with 4 ohms down to 1 ohm???

Nope. Not unless they are DUAL 4 ohm subs. If not, your choices are 2 and 8 ohms.... -

Your options with 2 dual 4 ohm vc subs are, as I just stated in another thread:
1 ohm (parallel/parallel/parallel)
4 ohms (parallel/parallel/series)
4 ohms (parallel/series/series)
16 ohms (series/series/series)
