on the jl 500/1 sub it says it has a "500 W RMS x 1 @ 1.5 ohm-4 ohm". does that mean that the amps continuos range is 500 watts or that its max is 500 watts?

    RMS = continuos

    That JL amp outputs the same amount of power regarless if the load is 1.5ohms or 4ohms.... or anywhere in between.

        if you are saying the 2 subs run 300 RMS each than they would hold 600 RMS together and the amp should push them pretty good. you dont want exactly 600 RMS running to them because some points could blow your subs. you cant really blow your amp from not powering your subs completly but you cant blow your subs with too much power from the amp. thats the way i would go. better safe than sorry but if there under warrenty you could go with a different amp that runs 600 RMS, i wouldnt push it though.
