I had a 96 Firebird and Sony head cd unit
While listening to cd the power antena would stay down.
now I have a 2000 Firebird with the factory cd and the power antena is up when ever the unit is on cd or raido.
Can the antena stay down while useing the CD player????
I don't know if there is a new fix, but Ive seen people just put a switch in the pink(i think) wire from the back of the headunit, that will allow you to stop the power signal going to your antenna.

This is what I had to do when I put the power antenna in my car since my head unit only had one switched ouput. It's pretty simple to do, just a matter of deciding where to put the switch.
2002 Pewter v6 Camaro
T-tops, Auto, stock GFX
mods: SSRA, Whisper lid, K&N filter, Borla cat-back, Pioneer HU, RF 6.5\" speakers, billet grill, clear corners, red tubing under hood, black CAMARO fill-in\'s, QTEC, GM power antenna, fan switch
I never listen to the radio and I am buying a new Alpine head unit shortly so i just pulled the head unit out and cut the pink wire it took 2 seconds and now my car doesn't look stupid with that huge antenna
