I have the cd player out of a trans am and I can only hear little sound coming from the speakers.when I turn the volume knob up the sound will get higher for a few seconds then go away,no sound at all then.I checked my left side door speaker and the speaker is blown.could that be the problem

Yeah it's possible. Your speaker could be so badly blown that it's creating a dead short, which could be sending your head unit into 'protection mode.' Completely remove/disconnect the speaker and turn the head unit back on to see if you have volume.
