actually i already have a viper alarm system so this is just going to be an add on remote start. The unit sells for $99 but the install is around $200 cause he said its like an all day job. I could prolly do it myself but im in colege full time and work full time so i really dont have any time for it. And the key is needed because he said that they might have to actually glue the chip inside my switch so the remote start would work. Sounds comlicated to me so im leavin it to the prof'shttp://www.cardomain.com/id/y87inside

Yes, just leave it parked in nuetral with the e-brake on. They wire the clutch up somehow to start.
For one on our cars, you need to get:
1. The remote start itself.
2. The thingie to bypass the chip in your key.
3. The thingie to bypass the alarm. (if yours has it.1999 Chevrolet Camaro Z28
1987 Buick Grand National

good question! really i just think its cool as hell to be able to start your car from 100 ft away. But i think im gonna go with a 40 series flowmaster this paycheck....but thats a different topic all together. But a remote start is definatly in the near futurehttp://www.cardomain.com/id/y87inside

Remote starts are the best thing to have up here. With mine having leather in it, it's nice to sit on a warm seat in the morning. :D1999 Chevrolet Camaro Z28
1987 Buick Grand National

I had remote start on my car, it's a manual BTW. I thought it would be cool just to have, but I never used it so I took it off. I installed it myself. Don't let them glue a chip in your ignition switch. If they think that's how its done then I would never let them touch my car. DEI has a part you can get, and you set it to the proper resistance needed. The part number is 555T, it's not an expensive part either, about $45 I think. If you have anymore question let me know.
