Remote Starters & Relays

When installation people hook up keyless entry/remote starter systems, do they connect them to one of the power lock relays? I noticed that the remote starter & the driver side power lock stopped working at about the same time....

yes, most likely the two are related. Usually if it is just a remote start module, it is activated by the factory locking system. If you have an aftermarket keyless entry fob then it may not be set up that way.
