Going to have fun here 4 10's and keep t-top holder open..
Okay this is my new mission I have 4 Mb Quart Reference 10" subs ready to go into my car, my rules being I need room for all 4 subs, my 850 watt Rockford Type RF sub amp, and my A/D/S 4 channel. On top of that I am going to shoot to keep my t-top holders open and accesable, and after all that, I don't want to block much of my rear window..
Anyone have any pic of something like this ever being done?
The subs don't require a whole lot, they want around .5 - .65 cuft of sealed air space each, and are a little under 6" mounting depth..
Be prepared to also hear anything and everything in the interior that can rattle and things that would not normally rattle will be loosened up to rattle like crazy.
A good stereo system, home or car has a balanced sound of lows, middle and high frequency sounds. Ask yourself, is this going to end up with a balanced sound?
You could run stealth boxes in both sides of the storage area, and pull out the rear seats and put one where each seat used to be. for the rear seat placement, you'll need to get custom boxes made.

You're biting off more then you can chew. First, subs mounted in place of the rear seats are not nearly as loud as subs under the hatch. Been there, done that. Holds true with all vehicles. And with that..... you're gonna need some sweet fiberglassin skills and a lot of planning and time. Not impossible.... but not worth the time/money/effort IMO. Sorry. :(
stealth boxes will handle 2 of them nicely. the other two you could mount in a single box on top of the axle tunnel. Your sub amp could be mounted on the tunnel box and you can tuck your 4 channel under one of the front seats. for all this you'll be redefining overkill though

true, thats why when my box gets built the installer is going to make the box tilt slightly towards the hatch so they somewhat fire onto the hatch window. I just pretty much went with 18's for the wow factor.
if you dont mind lossing the back seat you could take it out then extend the part that goes over the axle right up to the back of you seats. alot like corvettes, i beleave a few people on this board have them.
K&N air filter, Whisper air lid, magnaflow LT1 cat back, and magnaflow high flow cat, pacesetter headers, silverstars

more to come soon
but for now im out of money
Drivers and passenger side stealth boxes and a milhouse style box, then mount the amps on a rear amp rack.
This way you still have your back seat, t-top storage, room for the amps, and the space behind the seats when the milhouse is down(the tops have to be out though.)

yesterday I saw a 99 black camaro on sale for $2995. the previous owner had changed the tail lights etc as well as the
audio system. if he had not f_ _ _ _ _ _ with it would be worth much more. Modify your car and cut its value.
I am actually placing them under the hatch, and yes this is going to be a very well balanced system, I am using 4 subs only because 2 won't keep up to the volume I am used to playing. I own a custom car audio/video shop, so I know plenty enough about rattles and balance. I actually plan on competing with this one as soon as I get a chance to pick up 2 mb quart amps and Q line components. I got the subs the other day, looks like I can build a really shallow box and angle them to the center from the edges on the top piece under the hatch area. I'll let you guys know if I end up pulling it off.
My '89 Iroc had 2 15" Rockford Power DVCs 2 Power 1000a2's and a Power 800a4. I lost my back seat for that one to build a 4cuft ported sub box.
*per sub* That systems stomped, but sounded like hell, ohh back in the childish days of wanting to throw up in my seat..
Well also looks like i figured it out, now its just going to be amp mounting locations, unless I can change something. Anyways I'll post a few pics up as soon as I get my box done. Will probably be a week or so.
