As 96firebird311 posted earlier:

...you'll want to wire both positives on the each sub together. Same for the negatives. Now each sub should have a single pair of + and -. You have just done a parallel wiring scheme. Your subs now are 2 ohms nominal. Next, take a positive from one sub and the negative from the other. Run them to the + output on the RIGHT channel of your amp. Take the remaining + and - from your subs and run them to the - output on the LEFT channel of your amp. You have just done a series wiring scheme on your woofers (4 ohm load) AND bridged your two channel amp into a single more powerful channel.
Maybe I'm just not reading this correctly. It seems like you are saying to wire the (now 2ohm each) subs and then wire them in parallel out of phase.

Are you saying that's the same thing as series?

What I'm reading is a 1ohm load on the amp (bad) and the subs out of phase in the box (also bad). Right?
Your sig is the most important part of your message. Make sure that you list EVERY single thing that you have done to your car so that we can all go \'oooh!\' and \'Ah!\'. Please make your sig consistently longer than anything else you post. Please include your lengthy sig with EVERY single post you make during a reply, even if you only reply with a monosyllable grunt.

That part is correct.

Where do you see that? If I had connected both of their +'s together and ran them to the - output on the amp, THAT would be a parallel wiring config (1 ohm) out of phase.

Although what you described was a bit odd 96firebird311... it's customary to wire the DVC's in series and the subs in parallel. Instead you've suggested the opposite. Granted, they're both 4 Ohm loads at the amp, so I'm not sure if one is superior to the other. But I know for certain that a series/parellel configuration is more typical. I've never seen you give advice I didn't agree with - what gives?

Why don't we ask memphis what she thinks?

lol Actually, I DO usually tell people to series/parallel..... until I got someone who just jumped a 1 inch piece of wire between the + and - on the same coil. "You said connect + and - for a series connection!"

Not that both of the speakers are out of phase, that one is out of phase with the other.

Next, take a positive from one sub and the negative from the other. Run them to the + output on the RIGHT channel of your amp.
I think that you meant to say wire the the + of one speaker to the - of the other...a series connection. This says that you have a + and - connected together at the + of the amp...a parallel connection.

Take the remaining + and - from your subs and run them to the - output on the LEFT channel of your amp.
Again, a parallel connection is described. But since, at the amp, both + and - are attached to a common point, the two speakers are out of phase with each other.

As it is described (by you) previously, one woofer is in phase, but the other is out. And they are a parallel, 1ohm, load (bad).

Ike and 311, why not just post a freakin' wiring schematic and be done with it? ;)

Are you guys trying to imply something about me here?

And I would post a schematic, but I have no scanner (though paint would work, blah) or webspace to put it. Well, that I can access from work any way.

There is also the possibility that what I've said is incorrect. :(

That's the mark of an intelligent person.

And for what it's worth, I can't follow 311's explanation either. But I can post several links to a proper series/parallel schematic for 2 dual SVC subs:
