• Need some more BASS for cheap. LOL

Ok.. Currently in my car I have the stock 500w Monsoon HU. Quarter pannel speakers are removed.

I have 500w RF Amp wired in mono.

I have a stealth box.

I HAD JL 10w6.. blew that.
Then went to 10w3 D2.. blew that.
Replaced it with another 10w3 D2.. blew that recently.

So.. I'm going to see if JL Warranty will still cover the 10w3 through the tweeter center.. but then after that I think I'm going to sell.

My setup POUNDS.. It hit VERY hard. But.. I want a box with 2 subs... something that fits in the t-top area.. a regular rectangular box is fine.

I also need it to be removable cause I'd like to throw it in my truck when I'm not using the car.

I do NOT want to break the bank here. What do you guys think?

I can probably get the box made by a friend for cheap, but what about subs? Any ideas?

2 12's would be nice.

Thanks!

- Keith

Crap, if I would have know I could have sold you my old box. I had a custom made carpeted box with 2 infinity 12's in it. When I sold my old camaro to get the new bird the box and subs went with it.

I had some friends in the past that had JL's blow out on them also. I never had that problem with infinity. Good subs, not too expensive. Very clear, and worked well in cramped space.

I had the box made at a local shop near where I used to live. The guy did super good job, and was not expensive at all. You might want to check something like that. Never hurts. Good luck!

I not sure what your budget really is but, in case you've never been there before, check out www.subthump.com I'm sure you can find a box there that fits your needs!!! :D :D LOL Sorry that was really bad... ;) As far as the whole subs blowing thing. JL makes outstanding products... I'd check out your wiring.

I just want a standard box that will kinda slid into the t-top area and be easily removable. I want to be able to pull it and put it in my truck as well.

I agree JL makes an awesome product.

I push my sub HARD!!! I push it to the brink of bottoming out.

The last sub just stopped working.. 1 of the voice coils went bad.. this sub.. it seems as if one of the voice coils froze up.. The cone is very hard to move.

I'd like 2 12's for about $100 a piece.. Thats the kind of cheap I'm talking about.

Should still hit hard right?

I got a pair of Pioneer 12's for $90 on clearance at Best Buy in 12/00. They pound f'n HARD too! No I didn't get the top$ subs but it's more than enough bass for what I want and need.

Plus the box is really easy to remove too. I just blocks my t-top storage, which isn't a big deal cuz I store them in the back seat.

Check it out at http://www.redlineenterprises.com/mtmike/stereo.htm

I need to update the site. I've since removed that crappy sony deck and replaced it with a Kenwood.

Good luck, Keith!

Oh, sorry bout that! I meant to tell you in the previous post. I got it at Best Buy for $80 at the same time I got the subs. It's just a simple 2-12 sealed box. I hope they still have the same one there for you. If not I'll find out if my brother is still using his... I don't think he is. He got the same box but ended up upgrading a few months later. I'll find out if he made any modifications to it and if he'd be willing to part with it. Let me know if you find one at Best Buy first, though.

I took some measurements and it fit the cavity perfectly. They also let me test fit it before I bought it too.

Good luck!

I have a design that is slightly more custom if interested.
