I sell audio systems and I can tell you two 12" woofers in a small area of the inside of a Camaro is overkill at best. In order not to overcome the mids and highs U will have to turn down the woofers to a reasonable level and that makes the money spent on the woofers and enclosures will be a waste of money. I have a 12" subwoofer for my dolby digital surround sound but its only one and it covers the entire living room. You will also lose that rear area for batter cables, tools, etc.
I would get some QUALITY woofers that will fit in the rear sale
on each side of the back seat. Check out Kappa Speakers at
    Crutchinson.

here is owner review of the Kappa speakers
ince I had my first car in 1984, I have been a car audio fanatic. As the years went by, I have always upgraded my cars with sub woofers and additional amp, but most of the time I left alone the speakers. In 2002 I bough a Camaro Z28 and it has the Monsoon system from the factory, so I added a 2 10 inch sub woofers and amp and was happy for awhile, but I needed better mids and highs. I looked for over a year and couldn't find 2 ohm speakers for my Camaro to replace the stock ones, so I didn't replace them since adding 4ohm speakers would cut my stock amps output in half. Then in 2005 I seen Infinity was putting out 2ohm Kappa series speakers, I had to buy them.

        The Infinity 62.7i:

The 62.7i is a 6.5" mid bass speaker and single tweeter, it comes with the pieces needed for different mounting options to fit into a regular 6.5" opening or in the oversize 6.5S(6 3/4) and import cars. The mounting depth is 2.19 inches and makes it a great speaker to fit in a space where mounting depth is important. The 62.7i is a coaxil speaker which means the tweeter in mounted above the center of the woofer, but the 62.7i is setup like a component speaker with 2 inputs for the woofer and tweeter, so there are 2 sets of inputs on the speaker which first go through a crossover that is voice matched to not let highs run through the woofer or lows run through the tweeter. Also, the metal matrix diaphragm tweeter is adjustable to give you 2db more highs and rotates for better imaging in your car, so the highs don't sound like they are coming from the floor. They are very well made speakers and mid and woofer cones are woven glass fiber material, high roll butyl rubber, and plus one size which gives you more more area for the mid bass. They are also good for doors where moisture can ruin a speaker and the back magnet looks aluminum which I wasn't used to seeing, plus it is a square shape. I was lucky since my stock amp in my car runs at 2 ohm, so using these is just like factory with no modifications. There is a cover supplied that looks very nice and is silver, it also makes the tweeter and direction easy to adjust(I didn't use these, since my cars speakers are hidden). Infinity claims the 62.7i can handle a 75 watts rms(constant) and peak 225 watts. I am not sure I would push 225 real watts to these speakers, but anything around 100 watts should be fine. The highs are amazing and so clear and crisp they have to be heard to believe and the mid range woofer adds nice mid bass to my system without being overpowered. I am very happy with the Infinity 62.7i and highly recommend them to anyone wanting efficient 2ohm speaker.

Okay. I'm not looking for new mid-bass speakers. In that review the guy already had 2 10's and was looking for more mid-bass.

This topic isn't about speakers in my doors and sail panels, I already have those. I just want to know if these enclosures are good.

DUDE, DON'T DO IT!!!! Its a waste of your money and time. Alright, i have a 98, its got a killer system in it, i have an Alpine CDA-9855 h/u, the new Infinity Kappa Speakers (6 1/2's) in the doors and the sail panels, i deleted the rear speakers, (fyi, i had the monsoon system), and i have a pair of the '05 Alpine Type R 12" subs, everything is externally amp'd, its sounds soooo nice and is sooo loud, but anyways, that brings me to my point, after i put all my money into that, i decided to cheap out, and picked up a enclosure fitted for my year off of ebay, everything seemed ok online, looked like decent construction, all the measurements seemed right, so i bought it...what a f****** mistake, i got it, it looked like they used a household stapler, and some silicone to put it together, it was made with cheap MD Fiberboard, best of all to top my piss-off-ed-ness, the dimensions werent what they said they were, it was barely .75 cu. ft. of airspace per side, (they claimed 1.0 cu. ft.) and the depth was f-ed up, my type-r's shouldve fit easily in them the way they claimed, but they hit the one side when you set them in, so the arent deep enough by about 2 inches. Ok, so the point of this long story, dont cheap out, and you get what you pay for. im in no way affiliated with them, but the only way to go is Subthump.com, and get one of their boxes, it's amazing quality, they tune it for your subs, and you really get the product they're advertising. but, if you wanna pi** your money away...ive got a 60 dollar ebay box sitting in my garage, if you want it, you can have it...30 bucks, and that includes shipping. just get it out of my sight. good luck.

Ah im not gonna stick 2 L5's in there with that kind of air space. That would sound like ****. I guess ill bite the bullet and do subthump.

That box is actually fairly large. It is 1.75cuft per sub. Which is more than enough for a L5 12". But I don't know so much about buying that box because it is a no name brand and we are talking about ebay here. One of the best pre-fab boxes I have ever delt with for bigger than the q-logics customs that they make simply because those are small are made by a company called Audio Enhancers. I know alot of small shops carry them, and I know Circuit City has a contract with them and they can order them. They are heavy built boxes, and work great, never had a problem with one. But it might cost you between $100-$160ish, and it will probably take a few days for them to get it. Worth a shot, and they will have enough room to cut the square for the L5's. Good luck.

Hey man thanks for that. After all the looking for Camaro boxes i've done i've never heard of this company. I googled it and sure enough you were right. They seem like good boxes. I'll call my local CC tomorrow and see if they can do something.
