  • Kenwood head unit starts cutting out at higher volume

My Kenwood KDC-4019 in my Camaro has the odd habit of starting to cut out or distort real bad if I turn it above 20 on the volume control (this isn't even supposed to make it break a sweat).

I'm wondering if maybe the speakers in my car are screwy or if maybe the amp circuits are getting too hot or something.

I've been doing Electronics since age 8 and I can't figure this one out.

My kenwood does the same thing above 28 or so..... If it starts to do it I just know it's too loud and turn it down a couple notches to save my hearing.

Dunno what to tell you though.... 20 is a bit low for it to do it at.

    good luck!
