I had a knocking sound coming from the back and thought it might be my sub box which is mounted on the driver's side in a custom box. Anyways, I removed the sub and taped off the speaker wires but left the amp as is and went for a drive to listen for the knocking. Turns out the knocking noise wasn't the sub but now my sub does not work. I'm pretty sure the sub was working fine before I removed it. My question is did I screw up my amp somehow by running it with taped off speaker wires instead of having it connected to the sub?

I noticed that the Power LED on my amp illuminates red which means it's in "protection mode" according to the manual. Unfortunately, the manul does't say what to do when this happens. Any ideas?
I just got a reply from the manufacture's tech help team and it turns out I burnt out my amp. I learnt my lesson - you should never run an amp with no speaker load on it.
