ok so my speaker by the rear passanger seat is blown. (I think its a 5 1/4) I called the dealer to buy a new one and they charge $74 for a new one. Is the speaker worth that much? should I buy it, or an aftermarket set of two that are about the same price? and if so, can i have some recomendations?

Correction. The speakers in your car are 6 3/4". With that said I think that replacing your front and rear speakers would be much better.
I would buy some Infinitys for both front and rear. They have very good sound to them. The clarity from the speakers are enourmous as well is the strong bass.
Also do you have the Monsoon Stereo option? If so then you might want to go ahead and buy the replacment. Monsoon System sounds nice.

My 6 3/4" blew too. I bought a new one from GM dealer, about 3 months later it blew too. Be careful what you get to replace them. A lot of other speakers don't work well with a Monsoon system I believe.
