  • Replaced factory system - having problems

I replaced all the factory speakers in my 2000 firebird today and ran them off a new amp. Now after I run the car for a while, park it, and then crank it again, it blows a fuse. The fog lamps won't flash on the keyless entry, the radio won't work at all, and some of my gauges won't work, like the speedometer, tach, and odometer. It uses a 20 or 25 amp fuse, and I even tried using a 30, which held up a little longer, but still blew. Can someone tell me how to fix this?

First of all NEVER!!!! use a fuse bigger than its suposed to have. You risk serious damage to other components and the wire, possably causing a fire. There is oviously a short somewhere. Did you install it or have a shop do it?

If its a shop, take it back and yell at them.
If you did it, recheck all your wires, make sure you have no bare wires that can touch metal.
Are you saying things dont work period anymore? or dont work after you blow the fuse?

if they havnt worked since you installed it, someone messed up wireing it. Again yell at them.

    Good look with it though.
