Before you choose between 4 ohms and 2 ohms, you must understand what ohms are.

Basicly "ohms" are the resistance in the sub.
So to put it simply if you were to have one sub hooked up to one amp, you would want them to match. If you were to hook a amp with a lower ohm rating than the sub, it would work, but it wouldn't be as loud our powerfull as it could be.

You cant really say one is better than the other, sub to sub, because it really depends on the amp choice to go with it. A 2 ohm amp will with a 4 ohm sub will be inferior to a 2 ohm amp with a 2 ohm sub.

After you choose the power rating of your amp then you have to choose, how you will be hooking them up
• parallel
• series
The resistance of the subs will change according to how they are hooked up.

To get the ohm rating when they are in series.
The equations for ohms in parallel is:
For example 6 ohm speakers in parallel would be 3 ohms.
Then plug it into the second equation and you getFor series you just add them
For a 6 ohm speakers
So to simply tell you which is better is kinda hard untill you give me more info. Assuming you have an amp to put out enough ohms to power the 4omh speakers, then I would recommend the 4 ohm speakers.

also keep in mind that kicker SB L7's are dual voice coil (DVC)..

yea, DVC subs give you a lot of flexability on how to hook them up, what ohms to put them at, and how many you can wire to a specific channel of an amp.

As of right now i only have the 2 12" solo-baric l7 subs that are 4 ohms and no amp to power them or a box for that matter, so what amp do you think i should go with? Also what type of box should i put them in? Also if it helps i would be putting these in my durango not my camaro.

For the L7's I recommend a sealed box. They get a little sloppy in ported boxes.....unless you make the box huge. Power the pair with a JBL BP1200.1 and your eye balls should be shaken not stirred. :D

not in stereo. has one channel output, so the power is XXX by 1ch. Specifically for subs, cause subs dont run in stereo. you could take the two L7's, wire them the way you want, and use the mono amp to power them both. just make sure you know how much power they will be getting with the ohms you select.

i am using this sealed box http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...category=14945
now its time to pick an amp!

I have the choice of three amps as i see it:

this Hifonics http://www.ikesound.com/product-product_id/1507,

this JBL BP1200.1 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...ategory=18797,

Or this Hifonics which is the same as the first i belive http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...ategory=18797.

What do you guys think i should use?

I can't view the first link for some reason.... but remember the Brutus only outputs 1500W at 1 ohm. So you would need a pair of the dual 4 ohm L7's. No biggie at all. Just making sure you notice that. ;) Between the Brutus and the 1200.1, the brutus will win everytime. Just all around better.

That is correct. You will wire all the negatives together and then all the positives together. This will present your amp with a 1 ohm load. Perfect for the Brutus. I think you have found your amp! :D
