MOST BASS EVER.

I have RF HE2 12"'s which I got for a KILLER deal from best buy with 4 year warranty and all and the standard Best buy box.. I have a great hookup there. PureEvil is the man!!!

So.. I'm used to pushing a single JL 10w3 D2@4ohm with my 500a2 amp.. I had to set the gains down to min on the amp just to make the sub not blow and the punch was ALWAYS at the bottom.

I hook everything up just like it used to be but now with 2 12"s and run the speakers in stereo.. we CRANK the radio and the bass is so low.. I crank the gains ALL the way up and MAN we start pounding..

GIve the subs break in time.. and then push it a little harder.. OMG.

SO MUCH BASS.

I am very pleased. :D

BTW, this is in my beater 4x4, not in my car. It will be going in the car in the spring time.

Since you emphasized the word "ALL" I have to assume you did not use a o-scope or a multimeter when you set your gains. I can be almost 100% sure that you are sending a HIGHLY clipped signal to your subs. Your subs are 300WRMS I believe. They won't last nearly as long if they are playing square waves! But don't worry! You can still get the most watts possible out of your amp, you just need a multimeter... or one of those gain setting CD's. What is the RCA pre-amp voltage from your head unit? Even if it's as low as 2V, with the gain at max you are probably running ATLEAST 2:1 clip ratio, which isin't too bad but that's ATLEAST with a 2V deck.

Clipping happens when the amp is worked to hard right?

I believe the amp is at 4ohms stereo.

I really want the help however I have no idea what your saying. ;)

At low vol's, the subs BARELY move and still soo much bass. I feel bad for the people driving next to me. :(

Ehhh... not really, clipping happens when you set the gain knob incorrectly. The gain knob is NOT a volume knob. It is more of a sensitivity knob. You are suppose to match the output voltage of the piece of gear directly before the amp. Probably in your case, the head unit. (Some people have line drivers or crossovers etc.) If you match them correctly you can get full power from your amp and still not have the gain all the way up. Giving you a cleaner signal. Look on your gain knob. Does it have numbers (ex. 250mV-4V)or does it just say min-max? If it has numbers, it's a little easier (i'd still check it though) if no numbers you have to use a multimeter or o-scope. glad to see you like your HE2's, i have two 12' he2's as well, but i have a Micro Dimension 1800 watt amp pushing them and wowzers, i got the box professionally built by the guys that have the loudest van in Canada 173.3 db i think it is, but anyways yeah, they said with my set up they have never heard anything that loud in a convertible before. Sorry, just had to bump this one up. I want everyone to have a chance to download that CD and learn more about the imfamous gain knob. ;) It's an often misunderstood feature..... it can really cause some damage if used improperly.....
