• Lojack Questions:

I already searched the forum, there isn't much information on Lojack....

exactly how much does it cost? I know the annual fee is around $125... also, where's a cheap place to buy from? Can you get it online?

Thanks in advance, the reason why I'm getting it is because I get an insurance discount... as long as it's less than $900 a year, it's worth it for me.

Dealer installed, its about $800 or so, + service fees yearly.

only police departments equipped with LoJack equipment can trace the signal (a major drawback when i researched it).

it may be worth it if you live in a highly populated area w/ a police dept that has the equipment for it.

a friend of mine had his supra stolen from a parking lot. he had LoJack in it, but unfortunately, it wasnt activated. so it couldnt be used to find the car.

Here in philly, you can get one installed for about $425, and there are no more payments to make...ever! I am thinking of getting it on my car soon. Law Enforcement Officers get a 20% discount Some of our police cars have the lojack signal receiver in them, but most of the time they start yelping, the cars are already recovered by the auto squad unit. The lojack has to be turned off by the company in Minnesota. No police car has the ability to turn it off once the car is recovered. So the yelping can go on for about an hour or two after it was first activated

I think I paid $600 for it from the dealer when I bought my car brand new. There are no additional services fees after that.

The dealer offered it when I bought my car new for like $500 including an alarm. We were going to take it, but I declined because I wasn't postitive it works here because the dealer was a long ways from home. Turns out it doesn't work where I live.
