  • Adding subs to a monsoon system.

Ok, I'm looking to put 2 12's in the back of my 98 camaro but I have the monsoon sound system from the factory. My question is what do I have to do to make this work? The guy at circut city has adapters for the monsoon but he said they make popping noises when the song on a cd or a radio station changes, has anyone with adapters for the monsoon ever have this happen? and what kind of adapters are you using? Also, will the 2 12's in a regular box fit back there good? thank you very much for your help.

im not positive about the monsoon system, but i had the delco bose system before my stereo went in. i couldnt keep the bose sub in the back. I had to run new speaker wire from my deck directly to each speaker, minus the bose sub. Im not sure about any adapter though. As far as the box goes, you might be able to "wedge" the box back there, but i say if youre going to do it, do it right, and get a box that is custom fitted for your car. It will look much nicer and you will be happier. :D

I used a radio shack line out converter and ran rca's from that to my amp, so i can just connect them to an aftermarket reciever when i get one.
