  • Factory to Aftermarker HU (Non-Camaro, but please help!)

Ok, here's the deal. Recently, my parents bought a '97 Chrysler Concorde. The stereo that came with it was just the basic AM/Cassette deck, not the Infiniy system that comes with some higher models.

The problem is, about a week ago I went to install the Pioneer HU out of their old car into the Chrysler, and when I did the sound quality was absolutely HORRIBLE. It remindded me of the kind of stereo you'd hear in a stock system from the 1960's! Thinking I had messed something up, I put the factory radio back in, and everything worked fine. Needless to say, I am completely stumped. My best guess is that theres some sort of compatibilty issue, and that I either need to run all new wiring, or they should just buy a facotry Chrysler CD player to put in it. ANy ideas you guys have would be great!

it might have a stock amp hidden away behind a panel somewhere... and well pumping out a HU's amp into another amp is yuck...

That was one of my original ideas two, but I found one major problem with it. In my Camaro, I had several facotry amps because I had the Bose system. When I went to put in the aftermarket HU, the wiring harness I bought for the car had a wire for the remote wire going to the factory amps. The one for the Chrysler doesn't. Plus, I might be wrong here, but if there's no remote wire for the amps, and the amps aren't running shouldn't the speakers just not be working at all?

Although, it could be a Chrysler thing to, since I'm used to dealing mainly with Camaros. This is just driving me crazy!
