I recently bought an aftermarket alarm and remote start and I have had a problem with the remote not working more than 25 feet away. I have checked the batteries in the remotes and they are okay, my theory is that both modules are wired to my factory alarm antenna which has been weak since I have owned my car. Does anyone know where the antenna for the factory alarm is located or on the same note any information on this issue?

25 feet sounds about right actually. mine is only about 30 feet, that is normal for an aftermarket alarm.

no dude, the alarm is rated at 300ft. and the remote start at 150ft. it doesnt seem right that I have to stand right next to the car to start it, I should be able to be 100ft away and inside for it to operate properly

The ratings are very exageratted by the manufacturer. In real world application, with so much RF interference everywhere you turn(cell phones, pagers, etc...), it's hard to get anywhere near the manufacturers ratings.

        Just my .02 cents!!
