my amp stopped working

i was putting in my speakers today... when i was cleaning eveything up, my system was working fine. when i came back from putting the tools away, my amp wasn't getting any power. the fuses are fine, both on the amp and power wire fuse. i disconnected the amp, then touched the power wire to the frame of the car and no sparks flew... do you think it was maybe the power wire that went bad for some reason. or do you think the amp fried.

jesus man, dont touch the power wire to the frame. thats a great way to short stuff out and ruin your battery. get a test light, they are like $6.

anyway, if you did touch it to the frame, and nothing happened, check the fuse connection on the power wire (the thing that holds the fuse), check the battery connection, and see if the wire is pinched anywhere.

did you run the wire through the doorframe?

yeah i ran the wire down under carpet next to the door. my brother thinks that it might have over heated and shut off. but i don't think it did.. not that fast... i think its something in the power wire... the car was running the whole time i was cleaning up.. if the wire is pinched then would it work in the begining? well i will have to check all the connections tomorrow... hopefully its something simple like that... and i do not have to rip everything out again... and hopefully i didn't fry my amp.. hopefully
