  • Getting Infinity Kappa 652.5i Speakers, Need an Amp??

Hi, I'm getting two pairs of Infinity Kappa 652.5i 6-3/4" 2-Way Speakers for my bird and I currently have a low level Pioneer cd receiver (pretty new, but nothing fancy) with the MOSFET50 chip and all. My question is do I need an amplifier for these speakers? I really dont have much money (these are an XMAS present, I have zero dollars) Also, how much power would i need for them if i did (75x4 at 4ohms? 50x4?) If its not going to make a massive difference then i'm sticking with what i have now to save myself $200+ on an amp. Any comments on how good these should sound with my receiver compared to stock old speakers (no monsoon or trunk speakers)

Your headunit output around 25WRMS. You could go with the Kicker KX600.4 and give them all 75WRMS@4ohms. They would get MUCH louder.... hook them up without an amp, see if you like it. If you want more.....add the amp.
