When you say speakers, are you talking about subwoofers or a bunch of mids and tweeters? Either way, I wouldn't even begin to mess with something like that. </font>[/QUOTE]They are subs... and why not?

I belive most home audio subs are 8 Ohms. Basically when all amps rate thier power at 4 ohms, cut that in half, and thats what your sub will get. Home audo subs are mostly designed to work in ported boxes, but If you do your research you can probably create a sealed box that would work, might not be as loud as you want though.

Those subs also probably dont have the power handling your looking for in a auto enviroment. Your gonna spend money on an amplifier that pushes twice as much power as your sub will make use of, and your sub probably cant hold enough power to make good sound in a sealed enclosure. Building a ported enclosure for your first box, not a good idea in my opinion.

Once again, most of those above paragraphs are assumptions, if you robbed those subs out of a REALLY good home audio system, then it might be worth it. But otherwise your just setting yourself up for dissapointment.

Thanks Pig General, i now understand why it might not be a good idea. It sounds like i would just be better off spending a little extra money if i want the results i am looking for.
