what exactly is a diagnostic test, and how much do they normally cost?
the reason im asking, is because i had a fuse blow (ip dimmer, 5 amp), and if i replace it, it just blows again, so there is a short somewhere and the place i take my car too says there will be a $70 charge JUST to run the testing..
anybody know anything that could help me? thanks in advance..
They are probaly charging you for one hour of labor, 70 bucks is cheap. Around here shops charge about 95 an hour and the dealerships are about 110 an hour.

I know, they are charging you an hour labor to run the test. 70 bucks is cheap anymore.

Have you messed around with any of the wiring lately..like install a new stereo or something? If you did, double check the wires to see if any are pinched behind the headunit.
i havent. ive changed all the bulbs to LEDS.. but they have been working fine for the past month with no problems and all of a sudden it blows the fuse.
I can't see why led's would do it, they should draw less power. Hmmmm...

autozone can only scan stuff when the ses light is on, I worked their before and I have the same tool they use.
