I new here so I thought I'd say hey to everybody and see what kinda equipment yall got. I'm runnin 2 Alpine Type R's and a JL Audio 500/1. I'm working on a ported box right now. I've got 40 sq feet of dynamat extreme(I put it EVERYWHERE). And an Audiobahn Acap1Q cap.I also have a JVC sx-950 Cd player, 2 pairs of JL Audio 6.5", and a pair of 5.25" Infinity Reference speakers. I got it metered about 3 months after I got it all installed and I hit 144dB. The guys who metered it at my local car audio store were like DAMN thats wayyyyy higher than it should be hitting. proper dB measurment is done on the seats up front.

dash, esp in camaros, will give you a high reading.

144 with 500 watts, where exactly was the mic? was it on the windshield or on the actual dash?

yea, that will DEF give you a much higher reading than actual.
