    farads/capacitors?

    I'm buying this setup next week:

    -Audiobahn A12001DT Class D (1200 watts @ 1 ohm, 750 watts @ 2 ohms)
    -Audiobahn AWT12X 12" Linear Compression Subwoofer (2000 Watts RMS)
    -Custom Single 12" sub box w/plexiglass window (3.5 cubic ft)

    he recommened i get a capacitor, and ive heard that its good to have 1 farad per 500 watts. im running at 2 ohms, so techincally i have 750 watts running. i was thinking about getting the rockford fosgate CPCD10-03 capacitor, its good up to 1000 watts and its rated 1 farad. do you think this will do the trick?

    also, what exactly do they do?

          I wouldn't waste your money on a cap, Upgrade the big 3 and you should not have any problems.

                I have a buddy that is really good with stereo stuff and has a good setup himself. He told me that you need 1 farad for every 1000 watts you have. I hope this helps.

                    Caps are band-aids to try to cover up a poor electrical system. Big 3, if still have problems, a HO alternator will set you. If you need caps after that, you have a stereo so loud you can knock small children over when your bass hits.

                          Battery Ground to chassis, Alternator ground to chassis and battery positive to alternator. Use 4awg or 0/1awg wire.

                              very easy to upgrade...

                              you can find those brand new for under 300, hope u didnt pay much more than that!
