Not to rain on your parade-- if I remember my physics correctly, all things being equal, the difference in volume between 600 and 800 watts is fairly minimal. To get twice the volume, you'd need to multiply the power by 10. Buying a speaker with, say, lower efficiency might cancel out the effect of extra power as well.
You probably won't hurt that Kicker with that amp; most people hurt their speakers by clipping a low powered amp through them. The Memphis sub I bought used was driven by an amp with over 2 times the RMS power of the sub, and it works just fine for me.\'00 f-bird 3.8 M5 coupe, pewter metallic
Torsen LSD, Pro 5.0 shifter, Spec stage 1 clutch, Y87 muffler, aftermarket stereo
-more fun than the Oldsmobile it replaced...
