Daytime Running Lights 93-97 HELPP!!!!!

Ok i have already done extensive searches, and read that one website that tells you how to do the DRL's.
When i wired mine up, when i had my lights on, and the DRL's on, the turn signals wouldn't work
I know they could work, but i would have to turn off the DRL's everytime i would turn the headlights on, and that wud be a pain in the ***, and half of the time i would forget.
I know some of you guys have done this successfully before, how is it done?

all you had to do was cover ut the light sensor and vola lights never turn off
