Hey guys, my stock CD player has been actin weird lately....the LED display just died, and you can only read it if there is a light shining directly on it. Is there any fix to this problem, or do I have to get a totally different head?

It's actually an LCD display. LED's emit light, and LCD displays have to be backlit.
It sounds like the backlight has been turned off somehow. You'll have to take it in, it probably won't be too terribly expenisve. I had a Sony one go bad a while back and it was only $35 to repair locally.
If you can't find anyone who works on them, your best bet may be getting an aftermarket one. They're usually higher quality anyway.
