trans am steering wheel with radio controls questions about instal

  • trans am steering wheel with radio controls questions about instal

    wondering if someone can help me out here? , i have a whole steering column with wheel /radio controls that came form a 2000 trans am . I have the ac delco cd player with the built in eq that comes standard in most of the newer trans am . how would i get the radio controls to work , everything is hooked up besides the steering wheel radio controls ,this is a 94 camaro i have 4 wires of the trans am steering column that go were ? does anyone know if thes wires get spliced to back of the deck ? thanks for your help

      According to a post BlueFlameV6 made back a month or so ago, the 4 wires are:
      Ground (-)
      Switched 12volts (+)
      Illumination (dimmer)
      Signal

      BlueFlameV6, since he has a newer factory Firebird/TransAm cd-player, shouldn't it just be a matter of hooking up the "Signal" wire from the steering wheel to the number 14 PIN on the back of the factory cd-players wiring harness?

        hey thanks guys for helping out , im a dumbass at times i figured it out i think , ill know forsure later but you guys were right about the wireing off the steering wheel column thanks for helping again
