Just wondering because im sure not going to buy a $120 box when i can build it for about $40. Anybody have prior dimensions that worked well and what is the approximate Cubic foot you can get out of it?
My car is stored and i can't get the dimensions out of it. I just bought a single 10" Alpine R and only want nice sound and i don't want to take up all my trunk space.
Any input would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance,
Scott
I built mine a piece at a time. I made a bottom plate that slid in as far back as possible and with the biggest footprint I could make, start too big and cut it down until it's a snug fit. Once you've got the bottom made you may want to take some extra width off to allow for carpeting. Then I built the sides by fitting random shaped pieces together. Again, I tried to make the sides stretch out and fill up as much of the space as possible. Remember to make some type of mounting bracket to bolt it too your car or the box will jump and bounce around when you hit bumps in the road. I'm going to install my box, bolt it to the car from the inside, then install the sub. It will be a pain to ever get it out but the security will be worth it.
I don't have any specific dimensions since I "pieced" mine together. Once it's together be sure to seal the crap out of it. I think I'm going to coat the inside and outside of the box with automotive undercoating to get a total seal and then get some sound deadening properties as well. I think it will make a neat appearance, too. I'm buling another one very soon, I'll try to post the results.
Good luck, email me if you have any questions.

i tried makin one back in the spring, major PITA, right when i had all the pieces cut out and ready to assemble my a$$-hole little brother decided to nail them together (not knowing what they were) he then cut them in pieces, to say the least i was pissed, then i bought a mtx thunderform off ebay. save urself the work and just buy one.
\"Well, we don\'t care how bad-*** some dude\'s N/A Honda S2000 motor is; if you go up against 900+ pushrod ponies and 750 pounds of earth-shaking torque with a wrong-wheel-drive econobox, you\'re gonna get a fast and furious old-school ***-whipping.\"
I already bought a sub (alpine type-R 10") and its a pretty deep sub, cuz im looking for quality sound, not just "bumps". MTX subs, aren't all that great, and i dont think the thunderform box will fit my sub. Does anyone have the dimensions for it?
Kamaro, could u measure urs if you dont have the actual dimensions?
thanks in advance,
Scott
(p.s. those mtx boxes are EXPENSIVE)
